Have you ever heard of a person sticking their hand into something as hot as molten lava and not getting hurt? This dude did the impossible-- he took off his safety glove and shoved his hand right into the line of fire.
‍
But miraculously, he didn't get hurt. How did he manage this incredible feat? The answer lies in something called the Leidenfrost effect.
The Leidenfrost effect is like a superpower that happens when a liquid, such as lava, meets a surface much hotter than its boiling point. When the man's hand touched the molten lava, the extreme heat caused the lava to instantly evaporate. This created a protective layer of vapor around his hand, preventing direct contact with the hot lava and acting like a shield.
If you ask me, it's still bloody stupid to try out, but hey-- the video is cool!
